The opening will run from 5:30 – 7:00 on Saturday, Feb 9, 2013. This event is open to the public.
Five of the most significant Cincinnati area artists (Tracy Featherstone, Craig Clemmens, Roscoe Wilson, Andrew Au, and Jen Purdum) will be locked into the MAKETANK Projects studio for 30.5 hours (Friday Feb 8th at 10 am – Saturday Feb 9th at 4:30 pm) to create a collaborative installation that will be celebrated immediately upon completion.MAKETANK Projects is providing sustenance, studio space and surprise! MAKETANK Projects is offering its full metalsmithing and woodworking shop as well as video, audio, and other media equipment for use by the artists (of course, we have no idea exactly what will be made). In the spirit of both the dada and fluxus art movements, MAKETANK Projects will deliver a “surprise” in the form of an added conceptual challenge, given when the artists begin their installation on Friday (it is like Iron Chef).
The opening will start at the end of the prescribed installation challenge and will run from 5:30 – 7:00 on Saturday, Feb 9th. The show will be up until March 1. After the opening the show will be available inside by appointment and outside, well, all you have to do is walk on by.
